Oxford Service - Swanbrook

Introduction

Swanbrook runs a daily service between Cheltenham/Gloucester and Oxford. The timetable varies between weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Please use the menu on the left to select and display the timetable you require. Please also refer to the notes and information - including pricing - that appears below the timetable.

Worth knowing

From Cheltenham, Oxford is only an hour and a half's journey away on one of our comfortable, modern buses, and it makes a few stops along the way including Burford, Witney, before it terminates in the centre of Oxford.

With three comfortable, modern coaches running each way Monday-Friday, four on Saturday and one on Sundays, you can plan your day to suit you.

Our Gloucester-Cheltenham-Oxford service appeared on the list of the "Best 20 rides for over 60s travelling free in Britain" published by the Telegraph newspaper on Saturday, April 6th 2008.

Fare Information

No advance booking required or indeed possible. Simply pay the driver as you board the coach. There are different stops along the way, including around Cheltenham, Burford, Witney and Oxford, with Sunday and some weekday stops extended to Gloucester (see timetable for details).

Fares between Cheltenham or Gloucester and Oxford are below. Child concessions available.

  • Single fare: £7.50
  • Day return: £10.00
  • 10 journey ticket: £40.00
  • Bicycle per journey: £1.00

Midweek Special Offer

Buy one day return, get one half price! This offer applies midweek only. With this special midweek bonus offer - buy one day return and get another at half price* - you and a friend or a member of your family could travel for £15 return for the two of you.

*Two people travelling together on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday on the same service between Cheltenham/Gloucester and Oxford in either direction are eligible for this offer. Buy one day return and get the other half price.

Concessions and free passes

Over 60s free travel passes are eligible for travel after 9 am. Passes must be clearly shown to the driver at the time of boarding and free travel cannot be permitted if you are not in possession of a valid pass.

Child concessions are available.

Travel on Public (Bank) Holidays

On public holidays (bank holidays) the service is normally the same as the Sunday service.
